Free mover students
The free movers (visiting) are accepted by the UPM as students in order to attend a part of the study programmes. The students nominated within the framework of a mobility program or agreement do not apply as free movers.
The studies will be equivalent to a year or to two semesters and they give no right to obtain a UPM's degree.
Application deadlines:
- Full year or Autumn semester (odd semesters, September-January): June, 1.
- Second/Spring semester (even semesters, February-June): December, 1.
Application process:
- Learning Agreement.
- Identity card or passport copy.
- Transcript of records.
- Motivation letter (in English or Spanish) with a list of the courses to do at UPM. If the student would like to do the Final Degree Project, he/she needs to propose some topics.
- CV (two pages maximum).
- Certificado de conocimiento de español (nivel A2) si procedes de un país cuyo idioma no sea el español (ver "NOTAS" al final). Certificado en B2 de inglés para cursar asignaturas impartidas en inglés. Niveles de acuerdo al Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCER).

The registration fees will be set by the UPM's Social Council for each year.

- MSc in Acoustical Engineering.
- MSc in Internet of Things.
- MSc in Cybersecurity.
- MSc in Application and Service Development for Mobile Devices.
IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING THE LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- If you only choose English-taught courses:
- you do not need to attach a certificate of Spanish language;
- (a minimum level is recommended for living in Madrid).
- If you also choose courses taught in Spanish and supported in English you need to attach an A2 certificate of Spanish language by the application deadline:
- If you can't prove this level by the application deadline:
- you will need to get a B1 level before the beginning of the lessons;
- if you add the Spanish courses offered by UPM Language Center (intensive one primarily), it would be positively considered (see next note).
- If you can prove an A2 level in Spanish language by the application deadline a B1 level is recommened by the beginning of lessons anyway.
- If you can't prove this level by the application deadline:
- All the students are welcome to attend the Spanish Language Courses from the UPM Language Centre: the intensive course (before the beginning of the lessons, 4 ECTS) and/or the semestral course (3 ECTS).
A note about academic semesters at UPM:
- Autumn semester or first period (September-January).
- Spring semester or second period (February-June).
- There are resit examinations in July for failed courses in the ordinary examination periods (January and June).
