César Sanz Álvaro Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering from ETSIT-UPM Associate Professor

Born in Madrid in 1962. He obtained his degree as a Technical Telecommunication Engineer in 1984, that of Telecommunication Engineer in 1989 and his Ph.D. as a Doctor of Telecommunication Engineering in 1998. All of his qualifications were obtained from the "Universidad Politécnica de Madrid" (UPM).

Since 1984 he has been developing his work in the "Departamento de Sistemas Electrónicos y de Control" (Electronic and Control Systems Department), at present DTE, at the "Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica de Telecomunicación" (Technical Engineering School of Telecommunication), at present ETSIST, of the "Universidad Politécnica de Madrid", where he was a Lecturer until 1999, and an Associate Professor since then. He was Assistant Director of the Electronic and Control Systems Department from 1988 to 1992 and Director of it from 2004 to 2008. At present, he is Director of the ETSIST, formerly EUITT, since November 2008.

In 1996 he began the Electronic and Microelectronic Design Group (GDEM) and he is its Director since then.
